Duck Race

Next Race - Boxing Day 2026 12noon
The Kenilworth Lions Annual Duck Race is one of the town's biggest, quirkiest, and most-loved community traditions - held every Boxing Day in Abbey Fields, drawing thousands of spectators and raising significant funds for local charities.
On the day the Mayor of Kenilworth starts the Corporate Ducks at 11:45am, so they can get ahead of the little yellow ducks, spectators line the banks of the Brook cheering the most spectacular sight, a sea of decorated Corporate Ducks, some are more interested in riverbed feeding while others prefer to flip down stream, all start to make their way navigating the rapids, and other natural obstacles in their endeavour to reach the finishing line and claim one of the top cash prizes for their chosen charity, a real attraction in its own right.
On the tails of the Corporate Ducks, some 1500 community little yellow ducks literally fly into the Brook and speed along paddling as fast as they can, some over taking the Corporate Ducks as they race to the finishing line for the top cash prize.
Last year the ducks raised a staggering £11,264 all going to nominated charities and supported Lion’s approved causes, the vast majority of which will be local to Kenilworth. This is one of the Kenilworth Lions biggest fundraisers made entirely by the generosity and good-natured spirit of the people of Kenilworth and surrounding locations. Congratulations and thank you!!
