Kenilworth Lions Youth Volunteering Opportunities

Kenilworth Lions Club empower young people aged 11 to 18 to become a volunteer for their community.

You maybe someone looking to spend time volunteering and learning new life skills, preparing for extra curriculum activities for a university application volunteering as part of the Duke of your Edinburgh Award, Guiding and Scouting Awards or just wanting to volunteer within your community.

Kenilworth Lions run a furniture store which opens weekly on a Saturday morning. Here we collect donations of furniture, white goods, electrical appliances, and other household items which are sold-on and then delivered. All monies raised go to support charitable causes the vast percentage of which are local ones.

At the Kenilworth Lions Furniture Store, situated on Farmer Ward Road, Kenilworth, we invite young people over the age of 16 to volunteer. We promote two shifts on a Saturday morning within the operating hours of 08.00 – 13.00. A rota is prepared so we can be flexible around your availability.

Kenilworth Lions will help you gain experience in many areas including, customer relations, store set up for trading, sales in the various sections of the store, assembling furniture, van collection and delivery of furniture. You will be shown the systems for payment and accounting and portable appliance testing. You will gain important life skills through working with our team of Lion members and other adult / youth volunteers in the ‘Furniture Store’, taking part in local community service projects and much more.

Kenilworth Lions Club offer all youth volunteers aged between 11 and 18 an International recognition award called Young Leaders in Service (YLiS). You MUST be undertaking volunteer work within your community on a regular basis and your application approved. All youth volunteers aged 16 and over who are volunteering at the furniture store will automatically be accepted for this award.
